If you are in the general vicinity of Ft. Wayne, IN, it’s not too late to pop over for some of Lutheranism and the Classics III: Lutherans Read History. This biennial event is now in its third go-around and is a model for broad engagement with the past from within the traditions of Protestantism. Of special interest to readers of TCI may be Dr. Paul L. Maier’s (Maier is Professor Emeritus of Ancient History at Western Michigan University) lecture “The Greco-Roman Classics and the New Testament–Dissonance or Harmony?”.
Kudos to Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne, for putting it together.
One reply on “Lutheranism and the Classics III”
Mr. Hutchinson,
Would you mind in pointing me one or two reference books on the specific topic of Dr. Maier’s lecture? Already got something from other posts on this website, but maybe I’ve missed something big.
I happen to be 5.100 miles from Ft. Wayne, Indiana, so… No can go.
Kind regards,
Bruno
